Our cafe is making nutritious, hearty meals for $7. They are available on Tuesdays at 3 pm starting in January. The meals are all vegetarian. Some are vegan and/or gluten-free.
In January, as we await funding from Everybody Eats for free meals, these dinners will be available on a sliding scale. *Pay whatever you can. No one who wants a meal will be turned away because of money. If you want to pay more for your meal to contribute to someone else’s dinner, that works, too.
This month’s menu:
Tuesday, Jan 5 – Tuscan Bean Stew with melted cheese (formerly pizza beans) (Vegetarian, GF, contains dairy) An Italian herb tomato sauce with white beans, carrots, kale, onions, celery, and garlic baked with cheese on top.
Tuesday, Jan 12 – Vegetable and Chickpea Coconut Curry Over Brown Rice (Vegan, GF)Seasonal vegetables and chickpeas simmered in a mildly spiced coconut curry sauce over brown Basmati rice.
Tuesday, Jan 19 – Baked Pearled Couscous with Squash, Chickpeas, and Feta Cheese; (vegetarian – contains gluten and dairy) Toasted pearled couscous baked with roasted tomatoes and squash with garlic, herbs, and chic peas.
Tuesday, Jan 26 – Moroccan Vegetable Stew (Vegan, GF) Sweet potatoes, gold potatoes, carrots, kale, and lentils with apricots and savory spices.
Meals are available while supplies last starting at 3 pm. We will increase the number of meals made if the demand is higher than anticipated. No meals are reserved in advance.
