Becoming Buffalo Mountain Market

We did it!

With the help our you, our members, we moved the stores together into our new location!

Phase 1 of our renovations is almost complete, which allows us to be one store. Phase 2 of our building updates include creating a more accessible entrance. We want to celebrate our new store and our community with a party when we are more accessible.

Come check out the new store! We are still settling in and refining some areas, especially the bulk section, our meat department, our prepared food, and the seating area. Thank you for being so patient as we continue to develop.

We are open 8 to 7 Monday through Friday and 8 to 6 on the weekends to serve you! Come shop with your neighbors at Hardwick’s Community Market of Choice.

June Update

The floors are done and we are settling back into the store. We have a move date, too. The co-op is moving into the Market June 26 – 28. Our goal is to settle both stores together and then expand our products. Thank you for your patience and understanding over the next few weeks as we clean, reorganize, and do more renovating. The walls are getting painted, the cafe seating area is being installed, a bathroom will be installed upstairs and a customer service desk will be set up.

There are more renovations to do, including putting on a new roof and putting in automatic doors. We will have a grand opening later in the summer or in early fall once those major renovations are complete. For now, come shop and check out all the changes!

April Update

Buffalo Mountain Co-op bought the Hardwick Village Market on March 15, 2022. After closing a day for a staff retreat, both stores reopened with little changed. The vision of combining the stores into Buffalo Mountain Market to become the community market of choice was at the forefront of decision-making on how the transition would happen. Buffalo Mountain Market remains open as renovations happen. Keep checking out our website to stay updated on the changes!

After the floors are replaced, we will be ready to merge the two stores into one. This is currently slated for mid-June. Until then, there will be minimal changes to the products sold in both stores. There will be opportunities to help us with this historic move announced a few weeks before the big move happens.

The staff retreat took place in the middle of the market!
