Summary
The Grocery Team Member works with the Grocery Team by receiving orders, stocking shelves, and ordering products. The Grocery Team keeps the store stocked and looking abundant. They also assist customers to provide a delightful customer experience. This position is rounded out by working on the register to check out customers.. The activities may vary by day in order to help this dynamic department.
Schedule: This position is Wednesday through Sunday. It does involve working weekends.
Essential Duties
Receiving
Check in orders to ensure deliveries are accurate
Organize returns and credits prior to delivery
Log deliveries on the receiving log noting any returns or special notes
Downloading prices into the POS system and notifying buyers of changes
Stocking
Keep the shelves stocked and looking abundant
Maintain organization of storage areas so that they are clean and easy to access
Rotate stock to ensure it sells in the appropriate order
Ordering
Assessing purchasing needs and placing orders
Communicating with other grocery buyers to ensure the shelves are stocked
Customer Service
Make everyone who enters the store feel welcome
Assist customers with questions and guidance
Ring up customers’ orders at the register
Desired Skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Comfort in working with computer systems and digital ordering
Ability to collaborate across departments
Capacity to work independently and as a part of a team
